The Six Asādhāraṇa Ñāṇas

1.  Indriya-paropariyatta Ñāṇa: Knowledge of the spiritual faculties of beings. The Lord Buddha knew the maturity, faith, wisdom and capacities of different beings and taught them accordingly.  


2.  Āsayānusaya Ñāṇa: Knowledge of the tendencies and latent dispositions of beings. He understood the hidden inclinations and mental tendencies within beings.  


3.  Yamaka-Pāṭihāriya Ñāṇa: Knowledge enabling the Twin Miracle. The Lord Buddha could perform the miraculous display of fire and water simultaneously from his body.  


4.  Mahākaruṇā Samāpatti Ñāṇa: Knowledge connected with Great Compassion. The Lord Buddha continuously surveyed the world with boundless compassion to help beings attain liberation.  


5.  Sabbaññuta Ñāṇa: Omniscient Knowledge. The complete and perfect knowledge of all realities when directed toward them.  


6.  Anāvaraṇa Ñāṇa: Unobstructed Knowledge. Knowledge free from all mental obstructions and limitations.
